Humans have made a lot plastic. And that's kind of a big problem by now.
Lucas and his family are worried about the impact of all that plastic and wants to help recycling it.
Julie works at a Collection Point, she helps people sorting their plastic waste.
Paul and two of his friends run a recycling workspace where they transforms plastic waste into new products.
Sara connects all the different people recycling plastic in her town and helps grow her local Precious Plastic Network.
People create Precious Plastic Networks everywhere on the planet, creating a big community collaborating to fix the plastic problem.
People, tools and knowledge to tackle plastic waste locally- everywhere in the world.
The cycle of (Precious) Plastic
People do their part locally
All together reducing plastic waste on the planet
**All the while having fun, building a community and taking responsibility.
HOW IS THIS BETTER?
Waste to Products
The plastic is actually recycled into new product or raw material by our people.
Local
In the Precious Plastic Universe plastic stays local. No need to ship it across the planet hoping someone can deal with it.
Business
It creates local business opportunities. While taking care of all that plastic waste we generate.
Education
Everyone can learn about plastic and how to become part of the solution.
New system
The current recycling system is fucked. We're providing an alternative.
People
Thousands of people from all over the world have already joined the Precious Plastic movement. Building machines, crafting products, mobilising crowds or simply collecting their plastic waste.
Tools
Precious Plastic offers: - Machines to turn plastic waste into new valuable material. - Digital platforms to connect people and help collaborate - Graphic material to spread the word
Know-how
Precious Plastic is built upon knowledge. Free knowledge. People can learn from Precious Plastic and refine & improve what's already out there.
How does it work?
1. Big-bang
Precious Plastic kickstarts the recycling movement establishing the initial ecosystem of machines, tools, infrastructures and systems.
2. People join in
People join the Precious Plastic Universe and start recycling plastic. Building machines, buying and selling parts, crafting products and developing a global community of thousands.
3. Feedback loop
People build upon the initial knowledge. Improving the tools and sharing back useful know-how to push the limits of plastic recycling.
4. Learn and improve
The Precious Plastic Universe is iterated and improved upon feedback from people using it in different corners of the planet.
Two ways you can get involved:
